Weekly Rant:
The Star of "Ghost" is a ghost.
Amongst all the happiness I received in the last week comes this little reminder that The Universe is cruel: Patrick Swayze, most notable for Dirty Dancing and Ghost, passed away last night (9/14/09) at 57.
Now, I've seen Ghost, and I have to say, it's not nearly the chick flick I thought it was.
The dude was but 57, just two years younger than my dad.
Nice guys do finish last, huh?
[EDIT:] Whoops! Jack Russell played Snake, not Patrick Swayze.
Although, I bet Pat would have done well in that role.
He did alright in "Roadhouse"… and that required a brawny kinda guy.

FEATURES!
This Month, I'll be featuring some prose writers that need a little attention because of the awesome work they do.

~Fira-Astrali = Fan faction is like air: it's everywhere and no matter where you go, it never leaves. Some of it is good. Some of it is okay. The rest of it is rather groan-worthy. Fan fiction covers a broad base of subjects. Often the writers of said works insert themselves into to make it seem more personal. That doesn't always work, and neither do a lot of the slash/shipping romances that tend to occur in fan fiction. So color me surprised when I started reading a little tome called "Wolf of Sector Y." Normally, I don't read StarFox fanfiction, but this one is interesting. ~Fira-Astrali creates a world where Wolf O'Donnell is less the bloodthirsty mercenary of the acclaimed Nintendo games, but a man with a dark past and complex motivations. And the character Sloan, an orphan from a privately run Sector Y orphanage, is an engaging character that drops all pretense about being an original character in a fan fiction piece. If you love The Story, like I do, then YOU MUST READ "Wolf of Sector Y" and it's companion storyline "An Old Friends Request."

= I'm not the biggest fan of horror stories. Unlike a lot of fellow horror-haters, I don't get scared with horror stories. And often is the case where I can see the plot points coming from a mile away. Not so with Saphire346's "Prisoner of Obsession" and "Underworld". These tales keep you guessing and wondering what the Hell else could happen. Saphire is still a little rough around the edges, but with additional readers and some helpful criticism, her work could catapult into greatness. "Underworld" is still ongoing, now at least 22 chapters long. But trust me, you won't be disappointed in it!

= When one hears the word multifaceted talent, one gets pictures of actresses turning pop stars or Russell Crowe grinding an axe. (Sorry for the images folks!) This term, though, can more thoroughly describe people who specialize in not one, but several different creative endeavors. *lawl1010101 is one of those people. She draws, she takes pictures, she makes stamps, and also is known for photo manipulation. (She's also a HUGE fan of Emma Watson, but then again, who isn't?) Anyway, she writes some awesome series, like "Until We Die", a story of two modern day vampires living life, "How I Met Stacy Kay", a lesbian love story (NOT NEARLY AS PERVERTED AS IT SOUNDS, 'KAY!), and "Age of Steam", a genopunk/steampunk story about anthropomorphic air pirates. Sound good enough for you? THEN GET READING!

= More fan fiction, but this is with a very serious twist. "BSSM (Or Bishojuo Snechi Sera Mun, the Romanji of the Original Japanese title for Sailor Moon): Sovereigns" is a story about a new Senchi class from planets and star systems outside our own. The story starts off with Miss Carmen Carita, the daughter of a much sought after trial lawyer and a opera diva, as she starts life in Japan and discovers she was once Queen of Carina, a planet ravaged by Outer Chaos. It's an interesting take on the original BSSM and a worthy heir to the throne, IMHO.

= Four words: Cute High School Romance. Sounds like an emo band, but it's the most apt description of Prosecutie91's "Together". A lovely little read that really deserves some attention.

= I've said this before, but it bears repeating: I HATE NARUTO. And here on , it isn't a day filled with heartbreak and anguish until you see YET ANOTHER NARUTO FAN FICTION STORY. ~gar-a-ash though, takes things from another point in regards to Naruto fan fiction. She uses the Akatsuki, the major villains in Naruto, and creates wonderfully brilliant stories filled with depth, character, humor, and a little insanity. But go figure she does, this. She is the only person I know who will go cannibal with a constant cookie supply. Mmm, cookies… Oh, sorry, I went on a tangent. Anyway, for those needing a break from most Naruto FanFics, ~gar-a-ash is your bottle of !

1. My father is a convicted pedophile. Yes, you read that right. He served five years ina Texas prison for Corruption of a Minor. Translation: He was having sex with my sister and he got caught. This is why I tend to be a sensitive to incest/twincest stuff.


2. Like *Seijimei , I have a strong sense of justice. But unlike him, I also get a thrill when the villains triumph, if even for a little while, over heroes.


3. I don't understand Spongebob Squarepants, Hanna Montana, High School Musical, or Twilght. I'm not that old, but I have seen a few episodes of SS, HM, and one HSM, and I swear, I think I felt my brain cells atrophying.


4. I seem destined to live the artistic life: My maternal Grandfather Ambrose was a trumpet player and sometime watercolorist, my maternal Grandmother was an excellent soprano (not opera level, but still rather good) and played a mean organ, and my mom is a choir singer and piano player. I myself write, draw, sing, I used to play tuba in high school and I tella pretty good story, so I'm told.


5. I hate, hate, hate, hate, HATE Celebrity Culture. Every time I hear about the latest with Brangelina, I wanna commit multiple homicide. I also can't follow things like American Idol, Dancing with the Stars, or America's Got Talent, etc., etc., et al.


6. Steven = Gamer geek. I've been playing console gamez since I was at least six and I'm thirty now. Still can't beat Halo 2 on Legendary, but that's because I don't have much time for games anymore.


7. I still watch cartoons. And I'm not talking about anime, either. I used to watch Winx Club, Totally Spies, Ben 10, 6Teen, Pucca and Monster Hunters Club. Man, do I miss cable…


8. TMI ALERT: I have this thing for lactating women. Strange, yes, but true. It's not about the exposure of breasts or the suckling action. Okay, maybe it is, but there is something in that that turns me on something awful. Years ago, I was on a bus, heading for home, and this one women was sitting in front of the bus. She had a baby with her and when the baby started crying, she undid her blouse, set the the infant on one of her breasts and let the little one go. Two words described how I felt about seeing that: INSTANT AROUSAL. To this day, I can't sit through a nursing scene without getting an erection. This is probably TMI, but whatever. That's me, okay? Deal with it.

Project Wolf+Fox Is A-Go.
Okay, last week I was feeling a little out-of-sorts and some folks did their best to cheer me up.
Well, it worked, I'm not sad anymore!
BUt now I seem caught in a mania wave.
Especially since ~WickedPrince put up a pair of deviations called "Beth Puppy's Pet Play."
Since then, the gears have been winding non-stop.
Wicked Prince has had a number of other works that involve slave, anthropomorphic transformations and the like, and I think my recollection of those as well as a rereading of the first four volumes of Peach-Pits "DearS" may have given this series the push it needs to be born.
If you're reading this, WHY IN THE HELL AREN'T YOU READING WOLF+FOX?
